FriedSushi Art

Wild and Wonderful Art for All Ages

My mother always said I was born with a pencil and paper.

I like to believe that I've been an artist my whole life, but I think just being around all variety of creative minds has evolved me to what I am today. My mother is a skilled painter, drawer, and scrapbooker, my first aunt taught me the ways of stained glass art and ceramics, and my second aunt is a quilter at heart. I guess that's why I have such a hard time sticking with any creative outlet in particular. I just like to do EVERYTHING!

At my core, I'd say I'm a painter, but I also do digital and hand drawing, ceramics, sculpture, rock painting, 3D models, Minecraft buildings, emotes/overlays for Twitch, and small amounts of animation. Alot of things I'm just learning still, but I'm constantly wanting to learn new crafts and new skills.

I would describe my art style as whimsical, cutesy, semi-realistic, but also a little random. I'm pretty versatile, depending on the subject of the project, so I'd say alot of things look completely different. Lions and tigers and burrito chameleons, oh my!

Why the name "FriedSushi"?

Well, being online in the world of the internet, you tend to adopt certain usernames that just tend to stick with you. For as long as I can remember, I've used the name FriedSushi, for silly reasons, I'm sure. A love for sushi as well as how my brain does goofy things at times. My husband, whom I actually met online as well, uses the name CrabbyMatti. We're just a couple of seafoods going on adventures. In a way, it symbolizes my need to try new things, explore different crafts, and flail around like a crazy fish while doing so.
